… As GM Cautions Officers on Proper Maintenance
The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has distributed new bicycles to officers of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC).
This is in a bid to strengthen community surveillance and enhance the mobility of officers on patrol.
The General Manager of the Agency, Prince Ifalade Oyekan, during the official handover ceremony, issued a stern warning to the officers on proper use and maintenance of the bicycles, stressing that the bicycles remain government property entrusted to their care.
“These are government assets purchased with tax payer’s money and should be personalized by you, not handed over to friends or family as training tools
“Their maintenance is your responsibility, not that of the government, your Corps Superintendent (CS), or Divisional Commander (DC),” the GM said.
Prince Oyekan said that officers must display a high level of commitment, passion, and discipline in handling the bicycles, warning against negligence or misuse.
He also charged CSs and DCs to monitor the use of the bicycles within their divisions, ensuring accountability and optimal deployment in community patrol efforts.
Addressing the new intake of bicycle riders, the LNSA General Manager encouraged them to uphold values of diligence and integrity, adding that their positive conduct would reflect well on their superiors and contribute to the overall image of the Agency.
The initiative orchestrated by the LNSA marks another step in the Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s continued effort to promote effective grassroots security and foster closer interaction between officers and the communities they serve.
