Alimosho local government has mourned the death of its supervisory council for health, Hon Toyin Abolade.
Late Abolade died on Sunday 15th April, 2018.
She has since buried according to Islamic rite in her residence at 20, Alabata Street, Egbeda.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the family, the Chairman of the local government, Jelili Sulaimon, urged her aged mother to take heart, noting that Almighty Allah knows the best.
Sulaimon said he could not quantify the valuable contributions of the deceased to his government.
Late Alhaja Toyin Abolade was born on June 12, 1962 in Owu town, Abeokuta. She had her primary and secondary education at the African Church Schools, Owu Abeokuta and her tertiary education in London Pittman’s College.
She began her political career in 1987. And she has held various positions in politics.
She is survived by an aged mother, brothers, children and grand children.
Her son, Abdurrasheed Abolade told Communitystandard.com.ng that he would miss his late mum. He, however, said that he has accepted that decision of the Almighty, and that there was nothing he could do to bring her back.
“It’s just like a dream. But, what can we do except to accept what Allah has destined?” He said.
In his post on facebook, announcing the passage of his mum, he had said, “Inna Lilahi, wa Inna ilayi rojiun. I lost her just like a Dream. Hmmm. May Allah forgive her shortcomings, Hon toyin Abolade”
Life and times of Late HON TOYIN ABOLADE
Hon. Toyin Abolade was born on 12th June 1962 in the ancient city of Abeokuta, Ogun State. She was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Elegbede Abati of Owu Totoro, Abeokuta. She was enrolled into Owu African church central School, it’s iyalode, Abeokuta for her primary school Education in the year 1968 and completed it in the year 1974. She proceeded to Owu African Church grammar school (AFROGRAM) for her secondary Education.
She then relocated to Lagos where she enrolled into the PITMAN examination institute, upper standard institute, where she bag upper credit in Typewriting and Elementary. Having successfully completed the program, she was employed as a senior typist into the chamber of Barr. M.A. Fadoju solicitor and Advocate, behind Texaco filling station, challenge, Mushin, Lagos, State.
She resigned from the chamber due to marriage and relocation having performed creditably well. Then she was employed as a typist in Talisco (Bola) international property limited at 1A Oyekunle street ,idi open bus stop, Papa Ashafa, Dopemu, Agege, Lagos State.

POLITICAL ACTIVITIES AND POLITICAL OFFICE HELD WITH DATE
She started her political career in the year 1987 during the Babangida regime, zero party , when Alimosho was still under Ikeja local Government. She performed energetically as a youth member of the political movement.
She also contributed immensely to the activities of liberal convention during the military regime as well.
She was a staunch supporter of the defunct NRC, whose leader is Maj. Taliat Alao Abolade, former chairman of Lagos state centre for rural and urban development (CERUD) now a ministry, under the administration of chief Michael otedola.
She participated actively in the days of UNCP, GDM, and others. She worked with other political gladiators like Hon. Fatai shodimu and others.
She became the first woman leader of ward C2 in Alimosho local government during the AD era under the leadeship of sir Ayo Akinyemi as the council chairman.
Having performed very well as the woman leader, she was nominated as the welfare officer of the same ward.
In 2004, she was made the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu women forum (BATWOF), Alimosho federal constituency.
In 2008, she was elected councillor ward F Alimosho Local government, due to her performance, she was returned into office for second term in 2011.
She also contributed immensely to the activities of liberal convention during the military regime as well.

LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENT OF HON. TOYIN ABOLADE
A. Legislative function
i. Hon. Toyin Abolade sponsored a bill on road diversion in other to decongest traffic which led to the conversion of the popular Samuel street by vulcanizer bus stop to a one way lane.
ii. She also sponsored a bill on night market which successfully pass through the final reading.
B. Empowerment programme for 85 people on various skill, mostly women. Most of them now earn a living from it.
C. Self sponsored football competition organized for all wards.
D. Annual inter house sport of Hon. Toyin Abolade house of Akowonjo primary school
E. Contributions to the health department of the local government as the committee chairman on health, this is as a result of her oversight function.
F. She contributed immensely to the revenue department for prompt revenue collection and it judicious spending.
She received numerous award of excellence from various organization among which is from National youth council of Nigeria, Alimosho branch, progressive mandate group,and jamatul Qadiriyatul islamiyah among others.

She went for series of seminar and training both in the country and beyond. Some of which are organized by EFCC, Central Bank of Nigeria, etc.
