The Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI), in collaboration with Caring Heart Foundation, has donated essential educational materials to the students of Ifesowapo Aboru Senior Secondary School in Agbado Oke Odo local council development area of Lagos State.
The materials included WASSCE past questions and branded exercise books.
The donation was part of the academic-based non-governmental organisation’s annual programmes aimed at empowering secondary school students with the needed materials for their success.
The Project Coordinator, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi, said the donation was the second time the school would be benefiting from the organisation’s annual Book Donation exercise.
He was represented by the chairman of the Annual Book Donation Committee, Mr. Akinloye Yusuff, an alumnus of the school and a recent graduate of the Lagos State University, LASU.
“The book donation programme has been put together to strengthen the indigent students across Nigeria, and today, Ifesowapo Aboru Senior Secondary School students are the beneficiaries,” he said.
Prince Ogungbayi advised the students to make good use of the materials and continue striving for excellence.
“You don’t have any reason not to be great in life because our teachers here have performed wonders in our lives to date, and as you are seeing me they made me what I am today standing here on behalf of my project coordinator,” he added.
Special counselling services were also offered to SS3 students, helping them prepare for their academic journey ahead.
The school principal, Mr. Giwa Adetoro, commended the initiative of the two NGOs, while expressing heartfelt gratitude.
