– Programme to bridge gap between formal education and real-life application: Organisers
– As parents express high hopes

Parents have expressed strong optimism over the potential impact of the Earnest Leadership and Mentoring Programme (E-LAMP) on their children, as the initiative officially inducted its first cohort of 30 participants.
The programme, an initiative of the Chief Executive Officer of Main Earnest Global Services and Proprietor of Earnest Schools, Ayobo, Lagos State, Mr. Ismail Ogunyomi, held its induction ceremony on Sunday, April 19, 2026, within the school premises.
The participants are expected to undergo a two-year intensive mentorship programme, featuring training sessions, field trips, and practical engagements designed to equip them with essential life skills and leadership capacity.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ogunyomi explained that E-LAMP was conceived to bridge the gap between formal education and real-life application.
“We have travelled far and wide and observed that many young people need guidance. This programme is designed to help them leverage our experiences and avoid common pitfalls,” he said.
“It is aimed at preparing them for life realities and shaping them into well-rounded individuals.”
He noted that the mentorship would focus on four cardinal areas: academic excellence, social competence, strong values, and financial intelligence.
“Through this programme, they will learn early lessons that often take others years to understand. Exposure at a young age can make a significant difference in achieving success,” he added.
Mr. Ogunyomi also called for the active support and cooperation of parents, stressing that their involvement is critical to the programme’s success.
“We will be assigning projects, organizing field trips, and introducing financial responsibilities, including savings and investment culture. However, we cannot do it alone. Parents must encourage and monitor their children’s progress at home,” he said.
Reflecting on his personal experience, he added that the mentorship would expose participants to real-life business lessons, including both profits and losses, while also drawing from the organisers’ extensive leadership and mentoring background.
The keynote speaker, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi, urged parents to improve communication with their children, noting that it plays a vital role in their overall development.
“Parents should create time to listen to their children and allow them to express themselves. This will help build their confidence and leadership abilities. Charity begins at home,” he said.
He also advised the participants to maintain a balance between academic pursuits and other commitments.
“You must strive for excellence in everything you do. Avoid mediocrity. Manage your time effectively and ensure you stand out among your peers. Leadership demands discipline and focus,” he charged.
Some parents at the event expressed confidence that the programme would positively shape their children’s future.
Mr. Olalekan Abioye described the initiative as a valuable complement to parental upbringing.
“This will go a long way in supporting our efforts as parents. I pray that God continues to guide the organisers,” he said.
Similarly, Mrs. Rashidat Ogunjobi commended the initiative, noting her child’s passion for leadership.
“I am impressed. My son is eager to learn and grow in leadership, and this programme provides that opportunity. I sincerely appreciate the organisers,” she said.
The participants also expressed excitement about the journey ahead.
One of them, Summayah Abdur-Rasheed, said she was enthusiastic about being part of the programme and looked forward to the experience.
