The tenure of the current chairman of Alimosho Local government, Jelili Sulaimon, is gradually coming to an end, and the question on the lips of residents and watchers of political developments in the local government is, “who will the party present,” to succeed him?

Already, aspirants within the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have overtly or covertly declared their intentions to occupy the chairmanship seat once Jelili leaves in a few months time.

According to observers, while some of these aspirants are actually real contenders based on their pedigrees, others are mere pretenders or what could be described as ‘also-ran’ jokers.

Therefore, as the race towards the party primaries ahead of the main election hots up, Community Standard will do a profile of each of these aspirants and what they are bringing to the table for the people of Alimosho local government.

Some of the aspirants include the Supervisor for Agric, Youth, Sports and Community Services, Adegoke Oluwole Shosanya, the Supervisor for Health, Abolade Abdurasheed, the Secretary to the Local government (SLG), Dare Ogunkoye, the Leader of the House, Ahmed Obadina Obadina Saka Saula, incumbent Vice Chairman Akinpelu Johnson, former immediate past Vice Chairman, Adebisi Francis among others.
