Alimosho Local Government is inviting qualified contractors to bid for execution of several projects scattered across the communities.
The projects include roads, secretariat building, culverts and drainages as well as resurfacing of access roads.
In a Tender Notice published in the dailies on Friday and signed by the Vice Chairman, Mr Akinpelu Johnson and the Council Manager, Babatunde Emmanuel, the local authorities said such contractors must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, and the Lagos State government.
In addition, the contractors must be registered with Alimosho Local Government as well as have the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, LASRRA and Radio/Television licenses.
Some of the roads listed for construction or rehabilitation include: Ajani Akingbogun Street, Ifenirepo, Solomon Bankole, Alhaji Asanatu, Fashipe, Vincent, Oyewole, Multi-Crescent, Daramola, Gabriel Babalola, Sadiku Close, Muhammed Street, Santos and others.
The drainages, culverts and interlocking of Adebanjo Street, Egbeda has also been listed among the projects.
The roads in Ponle and Micom streets will be resurfaced according to the publication.
The new secretariat building, which had dragged for a long time, is also slated for completion.
It would be recalled that the construction of the building was one of the flagship projects of the Chairman, Jelili Sulaimon, during his first term but remained uncompleted throughout.
The notice also added that any contractor bidding to execute any of the construction works must have handled similar projects in the past.
The publication of the notice is seen as a welcome development by residents who have been clamouring for more dividends off democratic governance within the local government.
One thing is to invite bids from contractors, it is another to award the contracts and ensure the projects are delivered to Standard and within the specified time frame.
The Vice Chairman, Akinpelu Johnson, who is the Chairman, Tenders Board Committee, has a major duty to ensure truly tested, trusted and qualified contractors get the projects.
