Sunday 23rd of April, 2023 was a memorable day for members of the Al-Muminaat (The Believing Women), Alimosho Local Government, as they came together to celebrate the end of the Ramadan Fasting, with soul-inspiring lectures, games and other fun-filled activities.
Tagged Annual Shawwal Get-Together, this year’s event, with the theme, “A Refreshed Soul” held at the Sikiratu Ayinke Central, Command, had in attendance members of the organisation as well as Asalatu groups within Alimosho and its environs.
In a welcome address, the Amira, Hajia Hubeidat Farayola-Alamutu, said having been through a whole month of spiritual reformation, it is the tradition of the organisation to get-together, rejoice and reflect on the lessons learnt in the blessed month of Ramadan.
She said it was important that Muslim women ensure the spirit of Ramadan abides in them in all their relationships, especially with Allah, their families, neighbours and the generality of the society.
According to Hajia Farayola-Alamutu, It is through this that they can actually make their impacts felt positively by the people.
As Nigeria transits to another administration next month, the Amira said it’s the duty of all Muslims to pray for a smooth transition, while also urging them to play their part by being responsible citizens.
“Next month by Allah’s leave, our dear country Nigeria will witness another democratic change in government. New leaders will be sworn-in to power at both Federal and States levels. It’s, therefore, our duty to pray for a smooth transition as well as contribute our quota to the success of the new administration. Let’s play our parts by being responsible citizens, who will not undermine developmental efforts, but work for the advancement of the nation,” she said.
Discussing the topic, “A Rebirth Inside Out ” Guest Speaker, Hajia Hamdalah Adejoke Musa, encouraged the women to keep up with the good acts of worship done in Ramadan.
She urged them to “write out the sins you want to stop doing after Ramadan and work on it.”
She said, “Allaah is near and ever responsive. Make dua for your needs and for acceptance of deeds and for steadfastness.”
While advising them to seek for useful knowledge, Hajia Musa charged them to be impactful in the society by amending their relationships with the people.
Giving a Goodwill message at the event, a former exco member of the organisation, Hajia Sauda Ayo Shittu, said the women should endeavour to observe their prayers in the mosque so that they can make positive impacts.
“And very important as mothers, we should always pray for our children,” she added.
This year’s annual Shawwal Get-Together was packed with a lot of fun not only for the mothers but also for the children, who had a nice time with the Bouncing Castle provided for their delight.
