As the Holy Month of Ramadan draws near, The Muslim Congress, (TMC), Alimosho Local Government has charged Muslims to renew their intentions in order to maximise the immense rewards in the month.

The Islamic body gave the charge at a Pre-Ramadan public lecture held on Sunday, 16th February, 2025, at the Muslim Praying Ground, Opposite Fatade Central Mosque, Baruwa Inside, Lagos.

The Wakil of TMC Alimosho Local Government, AbdulHakeem AbdulAzeez, in his welcome address, said it had become the tradition of the group to organize the Lecture in order to sensitize the public on the importance of Ramadan.

The Guest Speaker, Shaykh Sheriffdeen Ahmad, who is the Mudir, Vanguards Arabic Institute, Odosengelu, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, advised Muslims to prepare adequately for the holy month and seek means to maximizing rewards in the month of forgiveness.

He encouraged the gathering to seek deep understanding of Islam and learn the rules of fasting.

Shaykh Ahmad highlighted remembrance of Allah, fasting, doing voluntary prayers, giving of alms (Sadaqah) as some of the charitable acts that can attract immense rewards for Muslims during the month of Ramadan.

At the annual event, participants were offered free medical checkups and free one year registration in the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme (Ilera Eko) sponsored by the Supervisor for Health, Alimosho Local Government, Hon. AbdurRasheed Abolade.

Top dignitaries and Islamic scholars who graced the lecture included; the Chief Imam of Alimosho Central Mosque, Shaykh Muhammad Bashir Mojasola, Chief Imam of Egbeda Central Mosque, Shaykh Musa Busari, Chief Imam, Ifelodun Muslim Ummah Central Mosque, Shaykh Sulaimon Olawale, and Shaykh Yunus Atere, Spiritual Father of the Day.
