– Appointments to reinforce administrative efficiency, school supervision – LASUBEB boss

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), has announced the appointment of Dr. Aminat Olawunmi Ige as the new Executive Secretary (ES) of Alimosho Local Government Education Authority.

Dr. Ige replaced Alhaja Airat Aremu who retired from service last December.

The Executive Chairman, LASUBEB, Dr. Hakeem Shittu, also announced the appointment of Mrs. Janat Bashorun-Olokodana and Mr. Taiwo Odumbo Abiodun as the new Executive Secretaries of Agege and Ikorodu LGEA respectively.

The appointments were ratified at the Second Statutory Board Meeting of the Board in the year, held at the LASUBEB Headquarters.

The appointments are with immediate effect.

Dr. Shittu described the appointments as a strategic move aimed at reinforcing administrative efficiency, enhancing school supervision, and ensuring that government policies are translated into measurable outcomes across the Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs).

According to the LASUBEB boos, strong leadership at the grassroots is critical to delivering quality basic education driven by technology in line with the third pillar of the State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.

Education Secretaries are expected to provide professional leadership, coordinate educational activities, and ensure strict compliance with approved standards and guidelines in public primary schools across the state.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, has congratulated Dr. Ige on her appointment as the new ES of Alimosho LGEA.

Akinsanya, in a statement seen by Community Standard, said Dr Ige’s appointment is a testament to her exceptional dedication, and tireless commitment to the advancement in the education sector in Alimosho federal government and beyond.

“Your vision and expertise shall further drive the transformative progress within the education system, fostering innovation, quality assurance, and academic excellence.

“We are confident that under your stewardship, the Alimosho local government education authority will reach new heights, nurturing a world-class higher education sector in the global sphere.

“As you take on this prestigious leadership task, we assure you of our full support and commitment towards an enduring success and more landmarks for the Alimosho local government education authority.

The new Alimosho ES holds a PhD in Mathematics. She won the overall Best PhD Thesis Award at the University of Lagos in 2024.

In a similar vein, the traditional ruler of Isheri-olofin kingdom, HRM Oba (Dr.) Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal Bello, congratulated the newly appointed Alimosho ES, describing her as “a woman of exceptional intellect, dedication, resilience, and proven capacity for impactful service.”

The King’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity, Office of the Olofin of Lagos.

The royal father said Dr. Ige’s academic and professional journey is a remarkable testament to excellence, discipline, and unwavering commitment.
