IKEJA, LAGOS – The Environmental Lagos Platform (ELP) has unveiled WalDo, a fitness walk and blood-donation initiative aimed at improving blood availability and affordability in hospitals across Lagos State.
The platform, a WhatsApp-based government-citizens engagement group, serves as a channel for sharing information and connecting community needs with relevant government interventions.

The initiative, organised in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service, is designed to promote voluntary blood donation and support efforts to save lives by ensuring that blood is readily available when needed in hospitals.
WalDo, according to the platform, will hold on November 18, 2026, at Alausa, Ikeja, beginning at 9 a.m. with an awareness walk before proceeding to a blood-donation exercise.

It is one of ELP’s humanitarian interventions aimed at making Lagos a better place through citizen participation and improved access to essential services.
Other attractions at the event will include social networking, rewards for participants, talks and trade opportunities.
WalDo is expected to raise public awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation while encouraging residents to contribute to strengthening the state’s healthcare system.
