The foremost Islamic Charity Organisation in Nigeria, Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, has distributed bags and stationery items to some primary school pupils in Alimosho.
The beneficiaries are selected pupils of Abati Primary School and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola Primary school, both in Shasha area of Alimosho Local Government.
The distribution, which held on Friday 6th of October, 2023, was done by the organization in order to put smiles on the faces of the pupils in their quest for academic excellence.
Items distributed included school bags, exercise books, rulers, pencils and biros.
The Alimosho Coordinator of the Foundation, Mr. Jamiu Badrudeen, told Community Standard that the programme was just introduced by the foundation in addition to the numerous charitable activities it is known for.
According to him, “this is just the pilot edition of the programme. It is not only here in Alimosho that the pupils are benefiting, but other areas have also benefitted.”
The Headmistress, Abati Primary School, Mrs. Ogbonyomi T. Olusola, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture, while she also prayed for continued progress for the foundation.
“On behalf of the school, the HM, the assistant, the teachers and the pupils, I, the head of the school says a big thanks to everyone of you. We really appreciate you for your effort, thank you so much,” she said.
On her part, the Headmistress, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola Primary School, Mrs. Edebor Diana, also showed gratitude for the donation.
While she prayed for the foundation, Mrs. Edebor, however, appealed that the foundation does more next time so that the items to be distributed could benefit more pupils.
