…Jelili, Akinsanya mourn, send condolences
The Chairman, Ayobo/Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs Bolatito Shobowale, is dead.
Reports said she died today after a protracted illness that had kept her away from office for a very long time.
Her death came barely three days after the State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, appointed her vice, Oladipupo Oluwaloni, to act as the Chairman.

Sources in the know told Community Standard that the late council boss had been in and out of office since she came on board, nursing an undisclosed ailment.
It was gathered that the state governor could also not reach her for quite a long time, a development that led to him appointing the Vice Chairman to take over the running of the council.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman, Alimosho Local Government, Hon Jelili Sulaimon, has joined family, friends and the people of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA to mourn the passing of Mrs. Bola Shobowale.
The Chairman, through a statement issued by his media aide, Babatunde Opeyemi Yusuf, described the late council boss as “a mother to all and a good administrator who is ever willing to see Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA progress positively but illness and now death denied her from seeing all this great wishes come to reality.”
Hon. Sulaimon said Mrs. Shobowale, since her assumption of office in 2021, had committed herself to the growth and development of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA until her death.
Also, the Executive Chairman, Igando-Ikotun Lcda, Mr. Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, has expressed sadness over the death of Mrs. Shobowale
In a condolence message, made available by his media aide, Oseni A.S, Akinsanya said Hon. Shobowale’s death was a “colossal loss to Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, the All Progressives Congress, APC and Alimosho Federal Constituency as a whole.”
“On behalf of my family, the people of Igando-Ikotun and the Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the residents of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA on the death of the council Chairman. Her death was a personal loss to me as a colleague and a painful loss to her council.
“I pray almighty Allah grant the deceased eternal peace and give her loved ones the fortitude to bear the great loss, amen.”
Shobowale was Secretary to the Alimosho Local Government between 1999 and 2000 during the reign of Sir Ayo Akinyemi as the Council Chairman when there LCDAs were yet to be created.
Acting Chairman pens emotional tribute
The Acting Chairman, Oluwaloni, in a tribute, said his late boss was more than a leader; noting that she was a mother, a mentor, and a pillar of strength to many.”
According to Oluwaloni, Shobowale’s passion for grassroots development, resilience in governance, and deep love for the people of Ayobo-Ipaja will never be forgotten.
He stressed that her legacy of selfless service, integrity, and commitment to good governance would continue to inspire future generations.
“As we bid farewell to this remarkable leader, we take solace in the fact that her impact will live on in the hearts and lives of those she served. May the Almighty grant her eternal rest and give us the strength to uphold the values she stood for,” he added.
