A leading aspirant for the Alimosho Local Government Chairmanship seat, Hon. Abolade Abdurasheed, popularly known as Aseyori, is hosting a free scan screening exercise for women in the local government.
The exercise, holding today Friday 21, March, 2025, is in commemoration of the International Women’s Day, and it’s being done in collaboration with the Christ The King Catholic Hospital (CKC Hospital).
The screenings include breast scan, fibroid check, ovarian cyst, fetal well-being, gender presentation and weight, pregnancy scan, blood pressure test and blood sugar test.
According to the organisers, beneficiaries will have free health insurance and a well written international standard report on each investigation done.
Hon. Abolade is the current Supervisor for Health of the local government. Before now, he had organised similar health programmes for the benefit of Alimosho people.
Hon. Abolade told Community Standard that the health outreach is an intervention programme to give hope to Alimosho women.
“It’s a way to show concern for the health of our women and give them the opportunity to know their status. A lot of our women are battling with various health challenges which most times, because of financial constraints or other reasons, make them nurse ailments in silence.
“So, today’s programme is a kind of philanthropic intervention to help our women overcome some of these challenges.
“It’s our expectation that by the grace of God the beneficiaries will smile at the end of the exercise. We owe this to our women, our community, our state and our nation in general,” he said.
One of the beneficiaries of today’s programme, Mrs Tadese Tawa, expressed deep appreciation for Hon. Abolade.
According to her, she has benefited from similar programmes facilitated by the Supervisor for Health.
“I heard about this opportunity on the platform. I have heard about many laudable programmes of Hon Abolade and I have also benefited a lot. I benefited from the Free eye screening outreach done not too long ago.
“When I heard about this free pelvic scan and other ones, already, I had been given form at the General hospital to go and do pelvic scan but it’s expensive, I don’t have the money to do it, so when I had about this exercise I was delighted. After the pelvic scan, I was told I can bear children on my own without having to go the cesarian session!
“Please, help me appreciate Hon. Abolade. People like him are hard to come by these days. He is really trying for us. The whole of Alimosho is thanking him immensely. May God grant his heart desires for the local government,” she prayed.
