The traditional ruler of Owode-Ota Awori Kingdom has felicitated with Mrs Amope Ajibola Chokor on her appointment as the new Head of Service for Ogun State.

The Onitetiku and Olu of Owode-Ota Awori Kingdom, Dr. Abdulwasiu Adeyanju Ogungbayi, described Mrs Chokor’s appointment by Governor Dapo Abiodun as historic and a honour well-deserved.

In a message of felicitation, the monarch prayed that Mrs Chokor’s tenure would witness transformation and development of Ota-Awori and Ogun State as a whole.

The message, written on behalf of Oba Ogungbayi by the Onitetiku-Owode Welfare Council, was signed by the Secretary of the council, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi.

Until her appointment, Mrs Chokor was Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service Commission.

Mrs Chokor, an accomplished town planner and administrator, hails from Imapa Quarters at Ota, in Ado-Odo/ Ota Local Government area of the State.

In appointing her as the new Head of Service, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abiodun, Kunle Somorin said in a media release said that: “The Ogun State Government, under Governor Abiodun knows that TPL Chokor, who has proven over the years to understand the system, would put to use her vast knowledge in the management of the State Civil Service and also maintain the high standard that the service is known for”.

She replaced the former Head of Service, Engr Lanre Bisiriyu.
