The new chairman of Olohunsogo South Community Development Association, under Agbado Ode Odo Local Council Development Area, has called for the cooperation and support of residents to move the communities forward.
Mr Jamiu Yusuf made the call on Sunday at the inaugural general meeting of the CDA, which also served as official handing over event by the former executives.
He said little or nothing would be achieved with no support from the residents.
The new executive committee of the CDA was inaugurated by officials of the LCDA on Wednesday 29, January, 2020.
The former Secretary, Mr Steven Akeke, who coordinated the meeting alongside the former chairman, Chief Adefolape, thanked the residents for their support during their tenure which lasted six years.
He said the new executive committee comprised majorly tenants and few landlords, a situation he described as novel, and prayed that God assist them to succeed.
Mr Akeke explained that the former CDA administration carried out some assignments which included the constitution of a security committee that oversaw security issues in the communities.
The committee was headed by Mr Oladipupo Olusesan, the producer of ASOM sachet water.
While briefing the meeting on the strides of the committee, Mr Olusesan, said there had been improvement, especially in the area of managing the finances of the areas.
While calling for cooperation with the new CDA administration, Mr Olusesan, urged residents to promptly pay their monthly dues, saying that without finances, the administration would not achieve anything tangible.
He equally warned that there would be enforcement exercise on those few residents who are refusing to contribute the agreed monthly dues meant for security and development of the CDA.
Some of the residents at the meeting assured the CDA executives of their support and cooperation.
While encouraging the new administration to embark on developmental projects within the communities, they identified areas the executives can look into for prompt action.
The former chairman, Chief Adefolape, canvassed support for the new administration, while also appreciating the residents for their support throughout his tenure in office.
An elder in the community, who also doubles as one of the advisers to the new executive committee, Chief Babatunde Taiwo Akorede, asked residents to assist the administration to succeed.
Olohunsogo South CDA is made up of Alabede, Irepodun, Temidire, Olohunsogo, Anuoluwapo, Idris Azeez and Olumo streets.
