The Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Mr Jelili Sulaimon, has said that completing ongoing projects remains the top priority of his administration in the second term.
Mr Sulaimon said this when members of the Baale-in-Council in Alimosho and executives of the Community Development Committee, CDC, paid him courtesy visits today at the local government Secretariat in Akonwonjo.
The Baale-in-Council, led by the Chairman of Alimosho Baales, High Chief Akibu Adebowale, used the visit to congratulate Mr Sulaimon on his reelection for another term in office.
The community leaders also intimated the chairman on the need to complete the Health Centre in Ward B as well as the construction of Bammeke road.
They also discussed the issue of hike in Land Use Charge, and appealed to the chairman to provide the Baale-in-council a vehicle to aid their mobility.
In his response, Mr Sulaimon appreciated their visit and promised to ensure all uncompleted projects are taken care of in due time.
He promised to give deserved attention to the welfare of the Baales, including stretching hands of assistance to the family of Baale of Mosaku who died some months back.
The Media Aide to the Chairman, Babatunde Opeyemi Yusuf, in a statement made available to Community Standard, said Mr Sulaimon told the visiting community leaders that “all other matters mentioned which may not be the direct responsibility of the local government will be communicated to the appropriate quarters for immediate action.”
The Baales appreciated his response and promised to give him all the supports he needs to excel.
In attendance were the Baale of Orisunbare – High Chief Akibu Adebowale (Chairman), the Baale of Bammeke – Chief Isiaka Ademola Bammeke, the Baale of Jaiyeoba- Shasha – Chief Bisiriyu Taiwo Hassan, the Baale of Iyana-Ipaja – Chief Isiaka Popoola Ayanwale, the Baale of Shasha Ilupeju – Chief Jacob Oye Ajibola, the Baale of Abule-Awori Chief Monsuru Adeyemi Olukosi and the Baale of Ketu Shasha – Chief Nojeem Ramon.
The CDC delegation, led by its Chairman Chief Aluko, appreciated God for seeing the Chairman through the last administration and still gave him the chance to contest and win the second time.
He urged the chairman kickstart the monthly meeting with the CDC now that activities have resumed at the council.
This, according to him, will ensure growth and development of the Community Developmenr Associations.
The Chairman appreciated the visit and promised to ensure the quick resumption of the CDC meeting.
Mr Sulaimon also reiterated that continuation of all uncompleted projects remains his government’s priority, while seeking their support in tackling the security challenges in the communities.
