A delegation from the Agbado Oke Odo Local Council Development Area today paid an assessment visit to Olohunsogo South Community Development Association in Aboru.
The purpose of the visit was to gain a first hand insight into the developmental efforts of the CDA as well as some of the challenges communities within the area are battling with.
The delegation was received by the Chairman, Mr Jamiu Yusuf and some executives of the CDA as well as the Baale of Olohunsogo, High Chief Babatunde Taiwo Akorede.
The chairman, in company the Baale and CDA executives, took the visitors round the communities to see the state of infrastructure and what the communities had done to make them work.
Speaking the end of the assessment tour, the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, Aremu Babatunde, who delivered the goodwill message of the local council chairman, David Famuyiwa, commended the CDA excos for their efforts in bringing development to their communities despite the pausity of funds.
He informed the hosts that the local council adminisitration had held a security summit where the security situation in the LCDA was appraised, with far reaching precautionary measures suggested for implementation by communities.
“You must be conscious of what goes on in our communities. Take note of strange movements and alert the security operatives whenever there are issues,” he said.
The Super for Agric also reminded the residents on the presence of Covid 19 and Monkey pox, which he said the state government and the LCDA administration were making frantic efforts to ensure they are under control.
Babatunde said proper waste disposal should be adhered to in order to prevent the outbreak of diseases.
Another member of the delegation, who is the Assistant Head of Department, Agric, Alhaja Akintunde, emphasized the need for regular meetings so that members of the communities would table their concerns and offer suggestions for the development of the areas.
The CDA excos used the opportunity of the visitors to register their displeasure over the long-term neglect of their communities by the local council government.
They told the delegation to help relate their message to the chairman so that something could be done.
Olohunsogo South CDA is made up of Alabede, Irepodun, Temidire, Olohunsogo, Anuoluwapo, Idris Azeez and Olumo streets. Aside Temidire, all other streets are not motorable. The entrance to Alabede street is no longer passable for vehicle owners because the drainage cover has given way.
