Mr Oladotun Olakanle has been sworn-in as the new Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area.

Olakanle succeeded the late Chairman of the council, Babatunde Oke.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who performed the swearing-in on Thursday, urged the new Chairman to continue with the good work of his predecessor.

Sanwo Olu said, for Olakanle to succeed, he must be a team leader and not take the goodwill of the people for granted.

“The best way to achieve this is to prioritise the welfare of the people and always be guided by the principles of transparency, accountability and probity in the management of public resources,” the Governor said.

He also charged Olakanle to see the new office as a call to duty and work hard to surpass all expectations.

“We expect the Chairman to live up to this administration’s governance template and vision #ForAGreaterLagos as encapsulated in the T.H.E.M.E.S development agenda,” he said.
