…As state chairman congratulates new executive members

Comrade Oyero Abiodun of Ipile Rere Youth Forum has emerged the new coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Alimosho chapter.

Oyero polled 38 out of the total 40 votes cast at the election held on Thursday November 7 at the Alimosho Local Government Secretariat, Akowonjo

The electoral process was coordinated by the State Chapter of the NYCN, led by its chairman, Eng. Adigun Ibrahim.

At the end of the poll, the Returning Officer from the State, Comrade Adeleye Olaleye announced the results.

Odah Goodnews, Sulaimon Dhikrullah and Badmus AbdulAzeez emerged as Deputy Coordinator, Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

Adah James emerged as Financial Secretary, while Ojubanire Dhakiyah emerged as Treasurer.

Omosanya Imran as Programmes Officer, Muhammad Musa Malik as Public Relations Officer, Olaoluwa Oyeleye and Taliat Omoshola as Auditor and Social Secretary, respectively.

“Hearty congratulations on your well-deserved victory and accession to the position of service and as the mouthpiece of all Alimosho Youths in the State! This milestone is a testament to your dedication, passion, and commitment to empowering the youth.

“As you embark on this new journey, remember that NYCN plays a vital role in promoting the interests and welfare of Nigerian youths and in this case, the Alimosho youths at large without segregation of tribe, race or political affiliations, providing a platform for young people to voice their concerns, develop their skills, and contribute to national development. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of Alimosho youths”, he said.

Giving the acceptance speech, the new coordinator appreciated the effort of the Local Government, the Agric Department and the previous coordinator, promising to build on the laid foundation of the previous administration.

He promised to prioritize professionalism in carrying out the responsibilities of the youth organization, adding that no youth organization in Alimosho will be left behind in its activities.

“Today marks the beginning of another 4-year journey in NYCN Alimosho Local Branch. And it’s going to be an interesting ride.

“The administration will be high on professionalism, while carrying all organizations and youths in the Local Branch along.

“Let us embark on this journey together, united in our pursuit of a brighter future. I urge everyone to get involved, share your ideas, and take ownership of our collective progress”, Abiodun said.

The occasion was graced with the presence of the Supervisor for Agric, Youth and Sport of the Local Government, Hon. Goke Shosanya; the Supervisor for Health, who was also a former Coordinator of the organization, Hon. Abolade AbdulRasheed; who both took turns to advise the newly elected executive members.

The supervisor for Agric, Youths and sports, charged the newly inaugurated executives to serve with utmost dedication, selflessness and sincerity.

He said leadership is an opportunity to make the society a better place, hence, he tasked them to do their best for them to be remembered for good.

 “As youth ambassadors, you have been saddled with responsibilities. Everyone looks up to you to see the progress you’ll make to take the youth council to a greater height,” he said.

Other dignitaries at the inauguration included the Vice Chairman, Lagos West Senatorial District, Comr. Aladeotan Sunday, and other State executive members. The coordinators of Mosan-Okunola, Igando-Ikotun, Egbe-Idimu, and Ojokoro Local Branches were also in attendance.

About the new coordinator 

Oyero Abiodun is a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, where he studied Physics (Electronics). He is a public speaker and a TEDx organiser.

He is a tech-enthusiast and a certified Project Manager, leading different projects, and seeing them come to fruition.

Abiodun is an active youth, and has served at different leadership capacities in different organizations. With the recent one being the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the last administration.

He is taking over leadership of Alimosho NYCN from Comrade Babatunde Opeyemi.
