As the third wave of the Covid 19 pandemic takes toll on Lagos, the Chairman, Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, has mandated market leaders to enforce full compliance to protective protocols with the markets.
These include compulsory use of masks, social distancing, temperature checks, provisions for hand-washing and sanitisers, and regular environmental sanitations in the markets.
Mr Ayinde gave the order while on an inspection tour of the markers today, during which he distributed free face masks to the market men and women.
“We must resolve that we will not leave any stone unturned in our bid to effectively mitigate the third wave of this pandemic in Igando Ikotun,” he said.
The Chairman advised the market men and women to keep the market areas hygienic always to prevent outbreak of any epidemic.
He, therefore, said inspection of markets across the communities would be resuscitated to allow them compete for the neatest market in Lagos State.
