“Excellence is the hallmark of Islam, therefore, we must improve the quality of our products and services.”

These were the words of the Amirah, Al-Mumeenat (The Believing Women) Organisation, Ijebu Remo, Ogun State, Mrs Faiziyyah AbduGaffar, who emphasised that excellence would not only improve Muslim women entrepreneurs’ visibility as a people but also enhance the quality of their lives.

Mrs AbduGaffar spoke recently at an Entrepreneur Seminar in Ijebu Ode, which was organised as part of activities to mark this year’s Al-Mumeenat Week.

Speaking on the theme of the seminar, “Why Entrepreneural Thinking is Important,” the Amirah explained that having entrepreneurial thinking skills and putting them to good use is not only important for business owners but for everyone pursuing life goals.

She said improving thinking skills would require passion for ones work, as “passion is at the heart of success in any human endeavour.”

Mrs AbduGaffar also emphasised on risk taking by the women entrepreneurs in order to grow their businesses.

“Risks taking is a common feature among entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs who cannot take risks may not be able to grow their businesses. So, I enjoin us to grow our businesses by taking calculated risks, because that’s where our survival is. Dream big, and follow it up. Never limit your dream,” she said.

Meanwhile, women have been enjoined to embrace their primary responsibility of nurturing the children to enhance peace and harmony in the society.

This was the thrust of the messages at the just concluded Al-Mumeenat Week of Ijebu Remo, Ogun State, with the theme “Home Pillar.”

Women were regarded as “an integral part of the society who plays significant role in the lives of the children. Thus, the “society reformer.”
