The Proprietor, Daarul Hikmah Wal Irshaad, in Aboru, is dead.

Sheik Idris Abdul Azeez Alatanda, died in the early hours of Tuesday, 13 September, 2022 in his home town, Abeokuta.

He was aged 70.

His remains was brought to Lagos this morning.

According to sources, the late Islamic scholar, popularly called ‘Mudeer’ in the locality, was not sick before is death.

When Community Standard visited his Arabic Institute situated at Idris Abdul Azeez Street, in Aboru, students, residents and other mourners were seen expressing shock at the news of Mudeer’s demise, whom they described as “a good man.”

More sympathisers were still trooping to the institute as at the time of filing this report.

The Chairman of Olohunsogo South Community Development Association, Mr Jamiu Yusuf, commiserated with the family of the late scholar and prayed Allah grants him eternal rest.

Community Standard learnt that Sheik Alatanda will be buried today at the Arabic Institute after the Asr prayer.

Until his death, Sheik Abdul Azeez was the Mufti of Agbado Oke-odo League of Imaams.

The remains of Sheik Abdul Azeez Alatanda, who died in the early hours of today, has been buried at his Arabic Institute located at Idris Azeez Street, Aboru.

Hundreds of people from far and near, including revered Islamic scholars, attended the Janaza prayer, which was conducted in the Institute’s premises.

Roll call of notable scholars at the prayer included Mudeer Markaz Salam, Alagbado, Sheik Moshood Jubril Ramadan, Mudeer Daaru Naheem, Ikotun, Sheik Imran Eleha, representative of Mudeer Markaz, Agege, Ustaz Ishaq Ajenifesin, Chief Imam of Egbeda Central Mosque, Sheik Musa Busari and a host of others.

Sheik Ramadan advised all present to be righteous, saying the late Abdul Azeez had done his part before returning to Allah.

He also prayed that Allah forgives his shortcomings and reward him with paradise.
