The Muslim Congress (TMC), Alimosho Local Government and Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA will, on Saturday 20, July, 2024 hold an Inheritance Seminar aimed at sensitising Muslims on the importance of inheritance sharing according to Islamic Sharia.

The seminar, with the theme, ‘Islamic Law of Inheritance: Concepts and Core Values,’ will be held at the Abesan Estate Central, Mosque, Abesan, Lagos.

Inheritance planning is an integral part of Shari’ah, and is the duty of every Muslim who has anything to bequeath.

However, it is unfortunate that the Islamic laws of inheritance are carelessly neglected nowadays, hence the acrimony and bitter rivalry that often follow the demise of a loved among members of his family.

The seminar, according to the organisers, will provide insights on the principles guiding inheritance sharing in Islam, with a view to addressing some of the problems people face during the process.

It will also highlight the necessity of sharing inheritances as well as the dangers of neglecting the act on not only the bereaved family but also on the society.

The Chairman, Committee of Experts, Zakat & Sadaqat Foundation, Sheikh Jamiu Tirmidhi, is the Guest Speaker while the Principal Partner, Amoo & Associates Noble Breed Solicitors, Barr. Abdul Wasiu Amoo, is the lead discussant.

Some of the expected guests at the seminar include the Executive Chairman, Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon; Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE), Lagos State, Engr.
