The Chairman, Alimosho Local Government, Mr Jelili Sulaimon has presented a budget estimate of over N1.6bn for year 2019 to the council lawmakers.

The proposed budget, tagged “Bridging the Social Economic and Infrastructural Deficit in Alimosho Local Government” is 3.6% lower than the 2018 budget.

34.75% of the budget is allocated for capital expenditure.

Mr Sulaimon, while presenting the budget, appreciated the understanding and collaborative efforts of the legislative arm.

He highlighted some of the achievements of the 2018 budget to include construction of Ogo-Oluwa Street (ongoing), rehabilitation of Ponle, Odebunmi, Fajumobi, Olalabi, Akinwowo, Lawal, Church, Gani Animashaun, Samuel, Igbehin Adun, Greenland, Adewole, Duduyemi, Irepodun, Ige and Iwajowa streets.
Others include creating active official website,, the reconstruction of Akowonjo Primary Health Center, free medical services in conjuction with Rotary, Rotaract, Lions, Eko clubs, consturction of a storey building blocks of classrooms at Rauf Aregbesola Primary School (Ongoing), Rehabilitation and furnishing of Iyana-Ipaja Customary Court, annual football competiotion for Alimosho youths among others.
While receiving the budget, the Leader of the House, Mr Hameed Obadina commended the chairman’s effort in reconstructing Alimosho.

He said “the legislative arm will work on the budget and ensure speady approval for the use of the Local Government.”
