Some members of staff of Meiran Primary Healthcare Centre in Agbado Oke Odo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, have tested positive for Covid 19.

The Chairman of the LCDA, David Famuyiwa, has therefore ordered the closure of the centre to contain the spread of the disease in the communities.

Spokeswoman of the Chairman, Mosunmola Olabige, who confirmed the development in a statement seen by Community Standard this evening, said the Chairman also ordered the immediate contact tracing of associates of the affected staff as well as patients who visited the facility in the last few days.

Community members, according to the statement, are advised to take responsibility for their health and life by avoiding social events that attract large gatherings.

“And by adhering strictly to the laid down guidelines of the use of face masks, regular handwashing and the use of sanitizers, maintaining adequate social distancing while in public places in order to flatten the curve of the pandemic,” she added.
