The meeting, which is now a routine, is a congregation of youths across the local government regardless of party affiliation, location, profession and education.

In his remark, the chairman of the committee, Comrade Samuel Oloruntola, affirmed that the committee had resolved and consequently recommended two areas of youth empowerment to the local government.

The areas include Provision of tools & and supports for youths already with skills and presently using it (vocational) and the second area is to train and empower others with needed skills (IT & vocational).

In his contribution, the Vice Chairman of the committee, Comr Jibola, said the committee also advised that since the Council Chairman is toeing the line of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his interest to keep the youths busy doing what they like, programmes like 3MTT, SMEDAN opportunities and Agricultural industrialization which are very core to the interest of Mr President should also be tapped from using the Council’s influence.

In his speech, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Dare Ogunkoya advised the youths to be ready for what is coming to them.

He added that, the Council Chairman will not say a thing except that he is ready to get it done. And this has reflected in all the projects he has successfully delivered like the construction and fully equipping of Bola Tinubu Health Centre, Olorungbebe Health Centre and Ipile-rere Health Centre.

Other delivered projects include the Local Government Administrative building, not less than 15 roads already completed and about 5 on-going without forgetting his landslide impact on education through the ultra-modern construction of Aregbesola Primary school among other positive efforts from him.

Consequent upon the resolutions of the committee executive, the two key areas namely empowerment and employment were identified by the Council Boss.

In pursuant of the resolution, the Council Chairman distributed all the youths in attendance into the different areas of their interest for empowerment.

The areas include programming and graphic designing, Vocational training and tools, Tools for vocational activities as well as recruitment into military.

The extent of the actualisation of the plans will be reviewed by the next meeting.
