The MIMS Educational Services recently honoured some of its pupils with the ‘A Day HM’ designation for their outstanding academic performances.
The body owns MIMS Nursery and Primary Schools, Shomolu, Surulere and ANNUR Nursery and Primary School in Bariga as well as MIMS Comprehensive College, Shomolu and Epe, Lagos.
The designation is part of the establishment’s motivational package to encourage students to perform well in their academics and aim for greater heights.
Master Abdulfatai Abdulwahab of MIMS Nursery and Primary school, Shomolu, got the designation for winning the prestigious golden cup of Education, Training and Research, (ETR) Consultant Annual written Examination competition held in March this year in Lagos.
Master Ridwan Salami was honoured with the post of “A-day Assistant HM” for coming second in the Examination.
Abdur Raheem Muhammad MIMS Nursery and Primary School, Surulere, who scored 100% in Mathematics and an aggregate score of 97% in the League of Muslim Schools Proprietors Annual National written Examination, also won the ‘A- Day HM’ slot for his school in the same MIMS establishment.
Buthaina Sherifdeen also led her collegues from AN NUR Nursery and Primary School to a Quiz Competition of League of Muslim Schools Proprietors, Shomolu Zone, held on Wednesday 9th June,2021, defeated 24 other schools to emerge the Champion of the competition. She equally won *A- day HM* slot through her brilliant performance.
The Annual events of ‘A Day HM’ ‘Assistant HM’ and HODs from each annex was held on 11th, June, 2021, and it was marked with pomp and peagentry. Interestingly, the event coincided with the 25th year Silver Jubilee of MIMS Schools as an establishment.
The newly crowned ‘A-Day HM’ as part of itinerary of the day, addressed the ‘step-aside HMs’ of the three schools, their colleagues on the assembly, and made visitations to classes and school special rooms.
The Parents, Teachers Association, PTA, chairmen of all annexes were also around to honour the pupils.
The occasion also witnessed a courtesy call to MIMS Comprehensive College, Shomolu, the Secondary section of the institution where they interacted with the principal and also showcased their achievements to the old students of their various annexes in the college.
The principal of the college, Mrs Isu M.F, advised them to keep the academic flag flying as there are still more hurdles to cross when they get to Secondary School.
“Academic without malpractice is our watchword in MIMS,” she concluded.
The highpoint of the day was in the MIMS Board of Directors’ Office where they were warmly received by the Board Chairman, Prince AbdulMujeeb Adesegun Ogungbayi, the board Secretary and Director of Academics, Mr Taiwo Lukmon Sheu, and the Director of Administration and Finance, Mr Afenifere Ismail Akanbi.
The Board Chairman applauded the pupils’ outstanding performances, while also advising them to uphold Islamic morals and keep up Islamic spirit in all their undertakings.
This, according to Prince Ogungbayi, will lead them to becoming world class personalities.
The pupils were showered with gift items by the Board Chairman, and in appreciation, they commended him for his role in mentoring them to attainning greater heights, while also wishing him long life and prosperity.
They equally congratulated the Proprietor of the establishment, Professor Ismail Ayorinde Adelopo for his vision which has seen thousands of children to greatness.
