– Commends Youth, Education and Road Projects
– Pledges continued partnership with LG administration
ALIMOSHO, LAGOS – The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Alimosho Local Branch, has applauded the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Johnson, and his Vice Chairman, Hon. Adebisi Francis, for what it described as “a year of purposeful and people-oriented leadership.”
The body said the administration’s first year in office had witnessed interventions in key areas including youth empowerment, road infrastructure, education, healthcare and community development.
The youth group, in a statement signed its Coordinator, Comr. Oyero Abiodun, said the administration’s focus on programmes that directly affect residents had made its first year worthy of recognition.
It identified youth empowerment as one of the areas where the administration had made notable progress.
Specifically, it cited the Adire training programme organised in November 2025, saying the initiative provided young people with practical skills and opportunities that could enhance their economic independence.
The council stressed the importance of sustained investment in youth development, noting that empowering young people with relevant skills remains critical to reducing unemployment and strengthening grassroots economic development.
The youth council also commended the administration for its interventions in road infrastructure, identifying good roads as essential to the movement of people, goods and services across the local government.
It mentioned Benesther Street and Sekoni Street among the roads that had received attention under the administration, saying that improved road infrastructure would contribute to safer transportation and increased economic activities within communities.
With Alimosho comprising seven wards and a large and rapidly growing population, the council said sustained investment in grassroots infrastructure remained important.
The NYCN also highlighted the administration’s interventions in education, particularly the distribution of free GCE and JAMB forms to residents at different intervals during the past year.
It further commended the ongoing free summer classes for primary school pupils in government-owned schools, describing the initiative as an important intervention aimed at supporting pupils and strengthening educational development at the grassroots.
In the healthcare sector, the youth council said the administration had demonstrated commitment to improving access to healthcare services, particularly for vulnerable residents.
It also noted that the administration’s community development efforts had extended across the seven wards of the local government, with projects aimed at improving residents’ living conditions and strengthening grassroots development.

Speaking on behalf of the youth council, Comr. Abiodun commended the chairman and his team for what he termed “their dedication and commitment to the development of Alimosho.”

Oyero assured the administration of the continued support and partnership of young people across Alimosho, expressing the council’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives that would further improve the welfare and opportunities available to youths.
The NYCN urged the local government to sustain the momentum and expand programmes that directly impact residents, particularly in the areas of youth development, education, healthcare and infrastructure.
As the administration enters its second year, the youth council expressed optimism that greater collaboration between the government and young people would help unlock more opportunities and contribute to a more prosperous Alimosho.
