As the countdown to the local government election in Lagos State begins, one of the aspirants that have declared intention to contest the chairmanship position in Alimosho is Adegoke Oluwole Sosanya, the current Supervisor for Agric, Youth, Sports and Community Services in the local government.
He belongs to the Mandate group within the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, headed by Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo. He is a graduate of the Ekiti State University, and a school proprietor.
Sosanya’s vision for Alimosho, based on his declaration statement seen by Community Standard, is to “build a resilient and vibrant local government that is forward-thinking, impactful, and dedicated to community-building.”
He also aims to work collaboratively with all residents to create an environment where developmental innovations thrive, ethical standards are upheld, and professional excellence is consistently achieved.
One of the key areas he plans to focus on if he gets the party nod to fly its flag at the poll, and perhaps, secures the mandate of residents, is enhancing professional development. And to do this, he said he would prioritise continuous professional development for all workers in the local government for better service delivery.
“I will advocate for specialized workshops, conferences, and training programmes that will provide our workers with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their various departments,” he added.
Infrastructural development is another area Sosanya intends to prioritise. According to him, there will be quick intervention to fix bad roads and construct new ones. In addition, construction of culverts, channelization system, drainages, public schools, health centres and other amenities will receive attention under his chairmanship.
“I will work towards creating platforms that will encourage research, innovation, and the practical application of skills to solve societal challenges. These include fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government.”
