Egbeda Kingdom in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State now has a new Oba-elect.

He is Prince Jimoh Hammed Orelope Laka.

Orelope’s ascension to the throne is coming five years after the death of the former monarch, Oba Samson Alade Balogun (JP).

Late Oba Balogun died on August 14, 2015 at age 80 after a brief illness that lasted for few days.

The Local Government Chairman, Chairman, Mr Jelili Sulaimon today presented an approval letter to the Oba-elect during the Local Government Executive meeting at the Secretariat in Akowonjo.

The presentation was sequel to the approval of Lagos State Executive Council on 13th of July, 2020.

The traditional ruler of Shasha Kingdom, Oba Babatunde Akinlowo 1, who graced the event, prayed for Prince Hammed Orelope for a peaceful reign.

Prince Orelope, in his acceptance speech, appreciated everyone for their relentless support.
