AYOBO, LAGOS — The newly elected executive members of the Earnest School Alumni Association have been inaugurated, with a call on them to uphold exemplary leadership, mentor younger students and contribute meaningfully to the development of their alma mater and society.
The inauguration ceremony, held virtually on Sunday July 5, 2026, underscores the belief that a school’s greatest strength lies not only in the quality of its teaching but also in the achievements and commitment of its graduates.
Delivering the keynote address, the Zonal Coordinator, Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI), Alimosho, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi, urged the new executives and members of the association to maintain good leadership qualities, remain worthy ambassadors of the school and serve as positive role models for junior students.
He also challenged the alumni to give back to society through purposeful service, stressing that leadership should be reflected in character, integrity and commitment to community development.
Speaking at the event, the Proprietor of Earnest Schools, Mr. Ismail Toba Ogunyomi, congratulated the newly inaugurated executives on their emergence and commended them for their initiative.
He advised members to see the alumni association not only as a platform for giving back to the school but also as an avenue for networking, professional collaboration and creating opportunities that would benefit members and the institution alike.
Leading the newly inaugurated executive committee is Falana Abdsemiu Abiodun, a 400-level Urban and Regional Planning student at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun state who will serve as President. Also inaugurated was the Vice President, Akintunde Rofiat Adeola, a final-year Medical Science student at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti state.
The association outlined plans to strengthen engagement among alumni through mentorship programmes, professional networking, community outreach, scholarship initiatives and other projects aimed at supporting the growth of the school and creating value for members.
According to the association’s action plan, priorty areas include building a comprehensive alumni database, establishing effective communication channels, organising career mentorship programmes, supporting educational projects and instituting annual homecoming and scholarship schemes.
There was marked optimism that the new leadership would reposition the association to play a more active role in advancing the interests of its members and supporting the continued development of Earnest Schools.
