The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, MSSN, Alimosho Area Council, has distributed relief packages to some of its members.
The content of each of the packages include Semovita, Processed Pap, Rice, Spaghetti, Noodles, Groundnut Oil and Tomato Paste.
The packages were given out as part of the group’s welfare effort to mitigate the impact of the lockdown this Ramadan period on the selected members.
The Amir (President) of Alimosho Area Council, Ayinde Jamiu told Community Standard that some well meaning Nigerians supported the council through donations in cash and kind to ensure the success of the endeavor.
“We are middle men on this project. Well meaning Nigerians actually supported the project. So, we identified the indigent ones among our members, especially the secondary school students, and took the packages to them to make this Ramadan an easy one,” he said.
The MSSN, apart from catering to the academic, moral and spiritual needs of its members, also prioritises their welfare, according to Jamiu.
He said the beneficiaries and their parents were full of appreciation to the organisation for the kind gesture, praying that Allah would reward the group and those who donated the relief items abundantly.
Jamiu, therefore, appealed to Nigerians, especially Muslims, to assist each other during this challenging period.
