A Non-Governmental Organisation in Alimosho, the Caring Heart Foundation, recently held a 2-day seminar for secondary schools to sensitise them on sex education and moral uprightness.
With the theme: “Curbing Moral Decadence: A collective responsibility,” the seminar enlightened the students, who were drawn from secondary schools in the local government, on sex education and how to live a morally-upright life.
The students were also educated on the importance of abstinence from sex to avoid early pregnancy.
The Wife of the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Mrs Kabirat Sulaimon, who is also the Director-General of the foundation, said the task of building an academically sound and morally upright generation is a collective one.
“It is the collective responsibility of parents, teachers and government to ensure that a generation that is morally upright and academically sound is built,” she said.
A Life Coach, Mr. Ayodeji Davies, advised the students to respect their parents and maintain their chastity.
He said selling their bodies for any gain could ruin their future.
According to him, “if you are loaded, you will be needed.”
The Principal of Millennium Secondary School, Mrs Gbadebo appreciated the NGO for the programme.
She said, “we need a programme like this frequently to reawaken the zeal of the students towards academic excellence and moral uprightness.”
The 2-day seminar was held at Shasha Senior Secondary School and Millennium Senior Secondary School, Egbeda.
It was organized in partnership with Ajoke Aishat foundation and the Alimosho Local Government.
