Muslims have been enjoined to prepare and fast with sincerity in the Holy month of Ramadan which commences in less than two weeks from now.
The preparations should include physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual readiness in order to enjoy the sweetness of the month of multiple rewards.
The Chairman, Committee of Experts, Zakat & Sadaqat Foundation, Sheikh Jamiu Tirmidhi, gave the advice at Pre-Ramadan Lecture organized by The Muslim Congress (TMC), Alimosho Local Government on Sunday 25 February, 2024.
Sheik Tirmidhi said making all necessary preparations ahead of the holy month will ensure the attainment of piety, which is the ultimate goal of fasting.
Discussing the theme of the lecture, “Islam: Its Message and Peculiarities’’ which held at the Honeyland Schools Playground, Gate Bus-Stop, Ipaja, Sheik Tirmidhi emphasized the need for Muslims to comprehend the Universality of Islam as a religion of all nations.
According to him, the message of Islam is comprehensive and clear as it takes care of all aspects of human endeavours. He also emphasized the balanced nature of the Muslim community.
Sheik Tirmidhi stressed that Muslims need to search for the new moon and wait for the official announcement by the Sultan for the commencement of fasting.
He also advised sharing of food in order to bond the hearts of the fasting Muslims.
The event also featured medical check-up for the participants, which was powered by Hon. Abolade Medical Outreach Team.
Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion were the Chief Imam, Alimosho Central Mosque; Imam Bashir Mojasola, the Chairman of League of Imams, Alimosho, Fadeelat Sheikh Isa Musa, Medical Consultant, Alimosho General Hospital, Igando, Dr. Yusuf Ogungbe, and representative of the Oni Shasha of Shasha Kingdom, Oba Nosiru Ogunronbi.
