The Chairman, Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Mrs Morenike Williams, has sacked her media aide.

The termination of appointment was communicated to Mr Oseni Eniola Badmus through a letter Mrs Williams personally signed and dated July 27, 2020.

The date on the appointment letter, seen by Community Standard, arouse some curiosity.

Letter of Badmus appointment termination

This is because Mr Badmus was said to have received the letter few days ago, an indication that the letter could either have been backdated or had been written long ago, only that the council boss was waiting for an opportunity to hand it over to the former media aide.

Interestingly, the former aide still wrote a media release on the bus distribution ceremony held by his boss, and probably did not know that his letter of appointment termination was lying in waiting for him.

Disclaimer issued

What further fuelled the concern of stakeholders is the fact that Mrs Williams issued a disclaimer at the weekend, warning the general public against doing business with the former aide.

Mrs Morenike Adesina Williams, Chair, Igando Ikotun LCDA

The disclaimer titled “Mr Eniola Badmus is no longer with Igando Ikotun LCDA,” reads:

“This is to bring to the notice of the general public that Mr Eniola Badmus is no longer the Media aide of The Council Chairman; Igando Ikotun LCDA or a personnel of the council.

“The general public is warned to desist from associating or relating with him on behalf of the LCDA, anybody who relate or deal with him on behalf of Igando Ikotun LCDA do so at his/her peril.

Signed:
Hon ( Chief) Mrs Morenike Adesina Williams
Council Chairman
Igando ikotun LCDA.”

Disclaimer not from my former boss-Badmus

From all indications, it appears all was not well between the LCDA and her former spokesman, even though Mr Badmus claimed the disclaimer could not have emanated from his former boss.

In a statement he posted on his Facebook page, Badmus claimed the disclaimer did not emanate from her office because “there has never been any misgivings or misconducts while in office from my part as a person.”

Oseni. E . Badmus, former Media Aide to the LCDA boss

“Serving with Hon. Morenike Adesina Williams, Executive Chairman Igando-Ikotun LCDA, has been a blessing and I made bold to say that through out my appointment as the media aide to the executive chairman, it has been more of a mother and son relationship.

“This is evident in the second paragraph of the letter as a result of the landslide success Igando Ikotun LCDA was able to achieve with my contribution and the ever supportive public affairs department to put our proactive and always working council boss on a superb pedestal.

“Our relationship is still cordial and intact as ever. When she appointed me nobody was there and when the other side surfaced I don’t need anybody to put Salt and Garri,” he said.
