The Olohunsogo South Community Development Association (CDA) has inaugurated the executive members that will pilot its affairs for the next two years.
The inauguration, which held on Saturday 16 September, 2023, was conducted by officials of the Agbado-Oko Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
It is interesting to report that the Chairman, Mr. Jamiu Yusuf, the Secretary, Mr. Sulaimon Alamutu and the Treasurer, Mr. Kazeem Salisu, as well as some executive members of the last administration were returned unopposed by the residents of the communities in the CDA.
The Community Officer of the LCDA, Mr. Muritala Anjorin, said the return of the chairman and his team was a vote of confidence and a testimony to their performance.
He also noted that Olohunsogo South CDA is one of the most peaceful in terms of the way the executives manage the affairs of the communities.
The Assistant Head of Department (Agric), Mrs. Balogun Modupe, administered the Oath of Office on the executives, and urged them not to betray the trust reposed on them by the residents.
In his speech, the Chairman, Mr. Jamiu Yusuf, said the new administration hopes to consolidate on its successes, while calling on the residents to continue lending their support so that they can achieve more developmental strides.
Also speaking at the inauguration, the Baale of Olohunsogo, High Chief Babatunde Taiwo, acknowledged the good performance of the executives under Mr. Yusuf.
He alluded to the fact that during the inauguration of the last administration in December 2019, he was recognized as a patron to the CDA but at this inauguration he is being recognized as the Baale.
This, according to him, would not have been possible without the contribution of the chairman, whom he described as a ‘very honest man.’
He, therefore, prayed for the new administration to succeed in all their endevours.
Chief Taiwo also used the occasion to appeal to the LCDA authorities to help address some of the infrastructural challenges facing the communities within the CDA.
He said most of the developmental efforts within the communities are being undertaken by the CDA.
The residents defied the heavy downpour to witness the inauguration, which they described as “one good term, deserves another.”
Olohunsogo South CDA comprises seven streets which are Olumo, Alabede, Olohunsogo, Temidire, Idris Azeez, Irepodun and Anu Oluwapo.
