ALIMOSHO, LAGOS – The Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI) has celebrated another remarkable success as one of its most accomplished scholars, Hamzah Sirajudeen, departed Nigeria for Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the prestigious Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) Fellowship international training programme.
Hamzah, who is widely recognised within AEI for his outstanding academic record, exemplary discipline, and commitment to leadership, is also the Standing Committee Chairman and Team Lead of the National Youth Development Scheme (NYDS 2024).
His selection for the fellowship reflects years of dedication to academic excellence, youth development, and public service.
The one-week Rwanda training forms a critical component of the LJLA Fellowship, a Lagos State Government initiative that identifies and develops exceptional graduates for future leadership roles in the public service.
The programme exposes fellows to global best practices in governance, innovation, policy formulation, and effective service delivery, preparing them to become the next generation of transformational public sector leaders.
According to AEI, Hamzah’s participation is not only a personal achievement but also a proud moment for the organisation, which has consistently nurtured young Nigerians of exceptional intellect and character.
Congratulating the scholar, AEI Project Coordinator, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi, expressed confidence that Hamzah would represent AEI, Lagos State, and Nigeria with distinction, while returning home with valuable knowledge and international experience that will further strengthen his capacity to contribute to national development.
As Hamzah joins other fellows in Rwanda, his journey serves as an inspiration to young Nigerians, demonstrating that academic excellence, purposeful leadership, and unwavering commitment to service can open doors to global opportunities and positions of lasting impact.
He is currently the Amir (president) Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Ayobo Ipaja Area Council.
