Saturday 24 November, 2018 will remain remarkable for the people of Shasha in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Remarkable in the sense that a new employment-providing outfit was inaugurated in the area, not by the government, but by a young, promising, self-motivated and enterprising graduate, Olusegun Olumuyide.

The outfit, Harry Styles Bespoke and Fabrics, according to Olumuyide, will bring to the people of Shasha and its environ a transition from fittings into standing out when it comes to fashion.

The fashion house deals with sewing, uniform printing, monogram, fashion store and training.

Olumuyide, a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, told Community Standard that his passion for dressing well led him to acquiring the skills after graduation.

“People admire how I dress and look; then, I thought of going into this as it is not easy getting a job in our country. If school certificate fails, handiwork cannot.

“After school, I took to my hubby, turn it into a business and today we have Harry Styles Bespoke and Fabrics,” he said.

Already, the new fashion outfit has engaged 10 youths.

This development received the royal embrace of the traditional ruler of Shasha Kingdom, Oba Babatunde Ogunnubi, who was also at the inauguration ceremony.

He says the coming of Harry Styles Bespoke and Fabrics is one of the things he has been praying and looking for, especially when done by young people like Olumuyide.

“This fashion house will promote Shasha and give jobs to residents of this community,” the royal father said.

Oba Ogunnubi used to the occasion to call on other traditional rulers, governments and well-meaning Nigerians to prioritise youth development and empowerment.

He said it was imperative to deploy efforts on youth development so that Nigeria and its future could be saved from socio-economic and security crises.

“The advice I have for traditional rulers, government and wealthy Nigerians is to try as much as possible to empower the youth because they are the future.

“We should not feel comfortable seeing youths doing nothing. Politicians should not just enrich themselves, they should make impact in youth engagements,” the monarch said.

Mr Olumuyide explained to Community Standard what his targets are for the new fashion outfit.

“As I launch this brand, I hope it will go places pushing my outfits out to different shores. I won’t mind styling for entertainers, politicians and all people.

“I have machines and materials to deal in all textiles materials and accessories as well as to run fashion store, sewing, uniform printing and monogram, among others.”

He also urged the government to encourage the youths towards self-employment, by providing them with soft loans.

The grand opening of the fashion house stood out with a fashion show where products of the company were show-cased..

The event was witnessed by the Secretary to the Local Government, Alimosho, Dare Ogunkoya, the Divisional Police Officer, Afonka Police station, Oke Funmilayo, the Manager, Diamond Bank Akowonjo, Mrs. Sola fadahunsi, and a host of other dignitaries.
