The Chairman, Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Akinsanya Ayinde, has presented a budget proposal of N1.8bn for year 2022 to the council legislators.
In the budget, Akinsanya said health, education and security would get the lion share while priority would also be given to women and youth empowerment in the 2022 fiscal year.
The Media Aide to the LCDA chairman, Oseni A.S, in a release seen by Community Standard, quoted Akinsanya as noting that “the presentation was a revival of the legislative system to ensure transparency and inclusiveness in the administration of the Local Government.”
Although, the breakdown of the budget was not given in the media release, Akinsanya said the N1.8b budget was prepared with input of demands from various wards under the local government.
According to him, the budget would be funded with allocation from the Federal Government, as well as the Internally-Generated Revenue of the Council.
While receiving the budget, the Leader of the house, Dauda Gbadamosi, said the legislators would look into the budget and ensure its speedy passage.
He said they are working harmoniously with the Local Government Executive Arm to ensure delivery of good governance to the people of Igando Ikotun LCDA.
