Youths must avoid all forms of distractions and be focused to attain excellence in their academics.
This was the advice the Rector, Lagos State Polytechnic, Dr Nurudeen Olaleye, gave members of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, MSSN, Alimosho Area Council, when they paid him a courtesy visit on Sunday at his office in Ikorodu.
The visitation was part of the activities to mark the group’s annual week, tagged ‘MSS Week.’
The theme for this year’s celebration is “The Pathways to peace.”
Dr Olaleye said “the only way to get to the top is to be deligent with one’s studies,” while encouraging the students to be morally upright at all times.
The rector took the students through his life history as a member of MSSN, as well as his academic sojourn.
The leader of the students’ delegation and the council’s Naibul Amir, Alli Bello, appreciated the rector for warmly receiving the society as well as his words of encouragement.
He said “today’s programme will ever remain in our memory, we have been charged and we hope this will be a turning point in our success story to greatness.”
