The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Mosan-Okunola LCDA, chapter, has tasked residents to remain committed and dedicated to the development of their communities.
The Chairman of the body, Abdulhameed Olaleye, gave the challenge at its Annual Youth Get- Together & Merit Award 2018 held on Wednesday at the Mosan-Okunola LCDA Hall.
Four dignitaries were presented with merit awards for their respective contributions to the communities.
One of them was Inspector Ajayi Peter who was recognized for his effectiveness in ensuring free flow of traffic at the Moshalashi Round- About in Alimosho, Lagos.
Others were recognized for their selfless services in Mosan/Okunola LCDA. They are Engr. Martins Odupitan, Mrs. Dupe Leoso and Dr. Afeez Akin Baruwa.
Olaleye said that the beneficiaries were recognised with the merit awards to appreciate their efforts in the community.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the council, Doris Adebanjo, challenged the youths to contribute to nation building.
She advised them to engage the government in beneficial talks or suggestions that will lead to the progress of the country.
Adebanjo, who was represented by the Secretary to the LCDA, Mr Ago Orimolade, explained that passion development would help youths to be independent of either government or employers of labour.
“Putting diligence to their passion will go a long way in achieving their set goals,” she said.
The event was graced by notable personalities in the LCDA, which included Alhaji Balogun M.J, the Chief Host and HOD Agric, Alhaji (Imam) M.B. Najimu, Rev. J.O. Olatinbosun, Comrade Ghaniu Dada, Mr. Babatunde Yusuf and others.
