Thirty-five beneficiaries of a two-week intensive human capacity development training in Alimosho have graduated.
The training, held at the Alimosho Local Government Secretariat, Akowonjo, was organised by a Non-governmental Organization, Genius Hub Services, with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation, GIZ.
Each of the students were given a starter pack, certificate of participation and financial motivation.
The training included mindset orientation, leadership and management, production of home-use products such as liquid soap, antiseptic, vaseline, bleach, hair cream, hot balm, shampoo, air freshener disinfectant, and digital marketing.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Mr Jelili Sulaimon, congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to make judicious use of the opportunities provided through the training.
Represented by the former Secretary to the Local Government, Mr Dare Ogunkoya, the chairman said initiative like this could reduce unemployment in Nigeria.
“”Therefore you should count yourselves lucky for being among the beneficiaries,” he said.
In a remark, the facilitator of the training, Mr Gbolahan Yusuf, appreciated the beneficiaries for taking their time to learn.
He also commended Genius Hub Services, NGO for increasing the number of beneficiaries from the initial 30 to 35.
Mr Yusuf, popularly called CAYO, also advised the beneficiaries to take advantage of the training to better not only themselves but the society at large.
It would be recalled that in September this year, Alimosho Local Government secured a partnership with the GIZ to boost education and agriculture in the communities.
The Chairman, Mr Jelili Sulaimon, had requested speedy efforts from the GIZ to ensure that the relationship becomes a reality in no time.
This training is one of the fruits of that partnership, facilitated by Mr Gbolahan Yusuf, a German trained expert and entrepreneur.
