One hundred and twenty students, trained on Information and Communication Technology, ICT skills, have graduated from the Salamotu Dosumu Skill Acquisitions Foundation.
The computer training programme was facilitated by theChairman of Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Mr Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr Ayinde said the essence of the training was to make the students ICT-compliant, while urging them to avail themselves of the opportunity so as to be relevant on the global stage.
“To the beneficiaries of this project, I have no doubt that a lot have been learnt and that the instructors/trainers have imparted to you enough knowledge during the training period,” he noted.
The chairman advised the beneficiaries to build on the knowledge acquired during the training and channel it to positive and use in their life endeavours.
“It is noteworthy that this computer training programme is a personal initiative to give back to the people as a dividend of democracy and to support the less-privileged that may not be able to fund training like this to be able to undertake such,” he said.
The founder of SALAMOTU DOSUMU Skills Acquisitions Foundation, Mrs Shakirat Rosulu described the free computer training as the first of its kind in the Igando Ikotun LCDA.
She said it was a good beginning for the students to excel in their academic pursuit and to be relevant in today’s world.
The graduating students were presented with certificates of completion, with three of them emerging overall best. They were rewarded with cash award.
